Practice Philosophy:
Everyone needs assistance at times to get what they want out of life. I strive to create a space for clients where it is safe to be vulnerable, exploring any and all issues/problems/goals, while remaining connected and supported. I do not believe in a "One-Size-Fits-All" approach to therapy and/or life. What works for one person may not work for another. Thus, I employ an active, interactive style, grounded in collaboration with clients.

I firmly believe that while we are each experts on our own lives, we sometimes need help from others to be the best that we can possibly be. I am not here to judge. Rather, I support your right to live your own life, as long as it is Safe, Sane, & Consensual. Thus, no topic is in-and-of-itself off limits. Described as compassionate, calm, direct, realistic, and humorous, I embrace cultural diversity, individualism, and spirituality. My clients find that I am unafraid to help them tackle the big issues and give them a "kick in the butt" when warranted.

Herstory:
I have always worked with individuals and relationships. This has been true for as long as I can remember, both as a counselor and prior. When I look at my counseling career as a whole, my clients represent a truly diverse population of clients. Working within a number of settings (clinics, in-patient hospitalization, incarceration, and schools) with clients presenting with a wide-array of problems, I have developed a solution-oriented, practical approach.

Having lived and traveled extensively throughout America, Europe, and Asia, my world-view embraces cultural diversity, individualism, and spirituality. Employing a systemic perspective, I see each client as not just an individual, but rather as having an interconnected life--incorporating family, friends, work, sociological influences, etc. I firmly believe that while we are each experts on our own lives, we sometimes need help from others to be the best that we can possibly be. I am not here to judge. Rather, I support your right to live your own life, as long as it is Safe, Sane, & Consensual.
